The Microsoft dependency question
The first question when evaluating Viva Glint is not about features — it's about infrastructure. Viva Glint is part of the Microsoft Viva suite and requires an active Microsoft 365 enterprise subscription. If your organization is a Microsoft shop (Teams, Entra, M365 E3/E5), Viva Glint is accessible through your existing relationship. If you're not, it's simply not available.
Harmny has no platform dependency. It works with Google Workspace, Okta, Microsoft, or any SSO provider, and can be set up in under a day without a sales call.

What Harmny adds that Viva Glint doesn't cover
Viva Glint is an engagement listening tool. It measures how employees feel through surveys and surfaces statistical insights. That's the whole product. For performance reviews, goals, competency frameworks, career pathing, and development plans, you need separate Microsoft Viva modules (Viva Goals, etc.) — each with separate costs and implementation. For HR operations like time off, attendance, onboarding, compliance, or recruiting, you need entirely different systems.
Harmny integrates all of these in one platform. More importantly, Harmny adds a behavioral engagement layer that Microsoft's entire Viva suite doesn't have: daily behavioral signals (recognition activity, streaks, goal movement) that complement survey data with what employees actually do. The survey×behavior divergence signal — when what an employee says diverges from what they do — is only possible with gamification exhaust. Microsoft Viva has no gamification mechanics to generate this data.
Harmny also covers HR operations that Viva Glint has no answer for: time off policies with one-click approvals, attendance tracking, org chart visualization, structured onboarding checklists, recruiting and offer letters with e-signature, compliance documents (I-9, EEO-1, policy acknowledgments), and trigger-action automations that fire on HR events without manual follow-up.
Choose Harmny if:
- ✓ You are not on Microsoft 365 enterprise
- ✓ You want engagement + performance management together
- ✓ Career frameworks and career pathing matter
- ✓ You want behavioral engagement data, not just surveys
- ✓ You need HR operations: time off, attendance, onboarding, compliance
- ✓ You want recruiting and offer letter workflows in one place

- ✓ You don't want to depend on Copilot/M365 for AI features
Consider Viva Glint if:
- • You're a large Microsoft 365 enterprise with an existing Viva deployment
- • Native Teams integration and M365 identity are non-negotiable
- • You want Copilot AI woven into your HR workflow
- • Centralizing on Microsoft's HR stack is a strategic IT decision
